About ANCHOR, & how a dispatch gets filed

Vellum22 is a web index that works like a wire service: operators submit a URL, editors review the copy, and the entry lands in the appropriate column in the order it cleared. The index carries 828 sites across 22 subject columns, from the Gaming Ledger and Health Column at the top of the volume table to compact sections like the Property Report, where five entries cover an entire trade beat.

The filing process is the same for every site. An operator supplies a URL and selects a subject column from the 22 on offer. Vellum22 fetches a description from the submitted site — pulling from the site's own meta copy where possible — and passes the entry through an editorial review before it lands in the index. The whole sequence runs in under a day for most submissions.

No entry on Vellum22 is paid, boosted, or sorted by commercial weighting. The order on every column page is chronological — most recently filed at the top, oldest at the bottom. A site that filed yesterday appears above a site that filed two years ago, regardless of traffic, revenue, or domain age. The index is a dateline, not a ranking.

Vellum22 does not rewrite, score, or editorially comment on the sites it carries. Each entry runs in the submitter's own words, with the site's meta description as a fallback when no copy was provided. The index is a record, not a review.

Submitting a site to Vellum22 is free and takes less than a minute. Visit the filing form, supply a working URL, select the column that fits, and wait for the editorial pass. Once cleared, the entry goes on the wire and appears in the index. Vellum22 accepts submissions from any legitimate web operator.
